Director of Mission Advancement
I think my location was determined on God's chess board of life. I had NO plans or forethought on working for a Lutheran Church/School in the heart of Milwaukee just blocks from my childhood home. As a Registered Nurse I am at home in the NICU, or in the birthing rooms.
Each day is never the same. I haven't been bored in 12 years!
I get to see the hand of God at work, and watch His plans unfold often in surprising - "take your breath away" ways. I have the privilege of helping others to grow bigger hearts and through this process, experience the joy of giving. I get to share the St. Marcus story 24/7 and am blessed to work with an array of incredibly generous people.
“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” -Jeremiah 29:11
Somedays I feel as if I have 800 children! However, I have raised 5 diverse, creative children who are in different stages of adulthood. Grandchildren YES!
Free time? If such a thing does occur, you will find me logging hundreds of hours atop my trusty old John Deere, reading on my Kindle (have tried to do simultaneously) or, basking in the glow of the most beautiful, intelligent and talented 3 year old on the planet; my grandson Ellis.
Anywhere warm, on the ocean, book in hand! LOVE Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Paris is a close second.
Haiti hands down -anytime- for a working vacation.
I love to surround myself (loudly) with Andrea Bocelli music when I work alone on long projects. I don't care if I can't understand the words...the music lifts my spirits and carries me away!
I have a childhood fear of high rise bridges and had to talk to my best friend by phone all the way across a drive over the Golden Gate Bridge!
If you want to help change the world for one child or hundreds, then come work with St. Marcus.
You will find YOUR life changed as well.
