St.Marcus2018a-3402019 School Accreditation Update

Educational accreditation is a type of quality assurance process where school services and operations are evaluated by an external group to determine if applicable standards are met. If standards are met, accredited status is granted by the agency.

St. Marcus Lutheran School staff began their accreditation work in January 2018. After completing their work on over 250 standards of the WELSSA's (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod School Accreditation) agency, a nine-member Accreditation Team that included administrators and teachers from other schools as well as the Executive Director for WELS School Accreditation visited both of our campuses for three days. During that time, they met with staff members, observed our school in-action and verified our self-study documents. This third-party evaluation of our school's ministry included the identification of our strengths as well as proposed recommendations for improvements.

After their work was completed, the Accreditation Team recommended that St. Marcus Lutheran School receive full Accreditation status for grades K3 - 8th grade for the next 5-year cycle.

We are thankful to the St. Marcus staff for their work on the accreditation process. We ask God to continue to bless us as we move forward with our mission to disciple children for Christ now and for all eternity, and to train them in excellence for their roles in their family, church, community, workplace, and country.
