Wandani VBS

Wandani VBS

It was a week filled with people, a bear puppet and in the end sewage, but Jesus' kingdom was on full power this past week.  Wandani welcomed over 30 different kids from the community to learn about Jesus around the theme, "Knights of the Day."  Camp Philip, a WELS camp in Wautoma, supplied the curriculum and 5 staff;  St. Marcus supplied the connections and adult and teen volunteers.

Our goal of this VBS was to make connections with more of the neighborhood kids who don't have a church, teach them about Jesus and also get them connected to our school year activities in Wandani.  The only glitch in the whole week was the Friday morning sewage in the school basement that forced a cancel of the final day.

Devin was one of those new students we met.  On Friday when he was sent away he asked if he would have his crafts.  All week Marie Richardson had been working with him on making different parts of armor and now was his chance to wear them.  He put on the breastplate of righteousness and the helmet of salvation, had his feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  Finally he held his shield of faith and walked home proudly wearing it all.  He was a community witness.

If you want to help us meet and change the eternities of kids in the St. Marcus neighborhood, contact Amber Gallun.  We have our Wandani cookout September 11th and our weekday after school programs right after that.

In Christ,

Pastor Paul
