Pastor Paul Steinberg is a true Wisconsin native, he has never lived outside of the state.  Born in Appleton and raised in New London, WI, he attended Emanuel Lutheran Church and School. Paul had a strong desire to dig deeper into the Word of God which led him to know as a 2nd grader he wanted to be a pastor.

Paul entered high school at Fox Valley Lutheran and participated in band as a percussionist.  He also joined the Lutheran Vanguard where he met his wife, Rebecca Grunewald. After graduating high school in 1989, Paul headed for Northwestern College in Watertown for his pre-theological degree.   In 1993 Paul graduated from Northwestern College, married Rebecca, started his first year at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and competed in the world championship for the International Juggler's Association in Montreal.

Paul interned at Christ Lutheran in Eagle River where he preached, taught catechism and coached soccer.  He also interned at Redeemer Lutheran in Fond du Lac and St. Mark in Depere to which he served the congregation by preaching and visiting those who were homebound.   Paul graduated from seminary in 1997 and received a call to St. Paul in Mauston and St. Luke New Lisbon,  the largest WELS dual parish at the time.  He served both churches by preaching five-times each weekend!  He was also heavily involved in jail ministry.  After seven years of ministry at New Lisbon and  Mauston, Paul took a call to Immanuel Lutheran in Medford where he served as an associate pastor of a 1000 member church.  Paul started successful after-school programs at all three of his first congregations.

In 2008, Pastor Paul took a call to St. Marcus and moved his family of eight to Milwaukee.  He serves St. Marcus as the school's pastor which includes reaching out to family, overseeing the spiritual side of education, leading Wednesday chapel worship services and teaching catechism in 7th and 8th grade.  He also serves the congregation as discipleship and family ministry pastor as well as Wandani's staff person.  Paul's favorite things about St. Marcus are the welcoming atmosphere and the people.  He feels a lot of hurting people in the area can be reached by St. Marcus' ministry.

Rebecca also serves St. Marcus through her role as an Educational Assistant at the 2nd grade level.  She is also heavily involved in the college prep program for the school.  Not only is she using her talents for the school, but also for the church.  Rebekah has an amazing voice that she shares with the congregation through her involvement in Joyful Noise and Gospel Choir.

Paul and Rebecca's children all attend St. Marcus Lutheran School.  Luke, the oldest, loves academics and reading.  Jonathan also loves reading and sports.  Joshua hopes to become a pastor and loves cooking and sports.  MacKenson and MacKencia are twins adopted from Haiti.  MacKenson is a very humble and generous boy.  MacKencia is a classic girl; she loves ponies, talking, friends and being pretty.  The youngest of the bunch is Andrew who loves reading, acting and telling stories and jokes.
