About Saturday Scholars

Saturday Scholars is a vibrant arts community that provides enrichment opportunities and support for children and adults to prosper. Programming is made possible in partnership between St. Marcus School and Unity in Motion, Inc.

In Fall 2018, Saturday Scholars will run for eight Saturday mornings (September-December) from 9:00 am to noon. Youth programs such as African dance and drumming, Art Explorations, Computer Coding, Mindfulness and more are available for 3rd - 8th grade scholars. Parents are invited to join, with classes including financial literacy, budgeting, home ownership opportunities and other resource classes.  Register Now!

Volunteers help make Saturday Scholars possible.

Sponsors are needed to provide and/or serve lunch for students and adults. Critical relationship-building happens between students, educators and community volunteers who provide and serve lunch. As volunteer Stephen Dickson puts it, “The students benefit from knowing that someone cares enough about them to give up a couple hours on a Saturday morning and invest in their lives.”

Volunteers can provide reading support for scholars. An important aspect of Saturday Scholars for grades 3 and 4 is practicing reading.
