Church member Beth Evans is looking for some help with a project at the WELS Central Africa Medical Mission (CAMM). They need more sunscreen to give to people who have albinism. Albinism is an inherited genetic condition that results in a lack of pigmentation (known as melanin) that gives color to hair, skin and eyes. Because their skin is particularly vulnerable to the sun's ultraviolet rays, people with albinism can also be predisposed to skin cancer and lesions. At the CAMM clinic, they try to give families who need it knit hats and sunscreen.
Would you be willing to provide a tube of 50 SPF to be transported in the next few weeks to Beth? Please contact Nell (email@example.com) with questions or set your donation on the Welcome Desk by February 25.
