How did you connect to St. Marcus?

I spent most of my years in the classroom teaching middle school before moving into curriculum development. From there, I worked in high school academic guidance, then as an elementary principal, and from there, K-12 principal. I heard about St. Marcus Lutheran School for many years through organizations like Schools That Can Milwaukee, PAVE, and City Forward Collective; I also attended a Gala or two. When I left my previous school, Henry Tyson reached out to see if I might be interested in joining the St. Marcus team. I am thrilled to be able to say, "I get to work at St. Marcus!" It is an amazing school dedicated to spreading the good news of Gospel in Milwaukee and is committed to growing students academically. I am thankful that the Lord has called me to serve Him here!

What do you love about what you do?

I love building community and working with families, staff, and students to help scholars grow in the Lord and thrive academically.

If you had a Bible passage/quote for your life and ministry what would it be?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
–Proverbs 3: 5 & 6

Tell us about your family…

I have been married to Terry for 33 years and we have 4 adult children (Nikki, Sarah, Zachary, and Hannah) and adult grandchildren (Katarina and Cole).

“When I have free time, you will find me…”

Spending time with family, walking, biking, kayaking, or baking

What’s your favorite vacation spot?

I love traveling both in the U.S. and abroad. My favorite U.S. location is Glacier National Park; traveling the "Going to the Sun Road" through the park is breathtaking and is an absolute tribute to God's glory and majesty. My favorite location abroad to date is Italy; I love the historic sights, vineyards, and delicious food.

What’s one fun fact about you?

My husband and I travel all across the United States and Canada on his motorcycle. Our longest trip was to Alaska and back on our honeymoon.
