Ways to make an impact

Thank you for your interest in supporting St. Marcus School. St. Marcus is a private, Christian school that participates in the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program. Currently, 1,075 students attend the school, 97% who use a voucher to attend.

Your support is critical in enabling us to serve as many students as possible with a high-quality, Christian education.

The following support options are available:

Unrestricted Annual Fund Gifts: The Annual Fund raises funds to support the daily operations of the school. These gifts are used to help cover the gap between the actual cost to educate a child and the voucher amount. $2,500 covers the funding gap for one child for one school year. Unrestricted Annual Fund Gifts are extremely helpful. They allow St. Marcus to direct your donation to where funds are most needed, providing the flexibility to respond quickly to changing circumstances and to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. Unrestricted gifts are essential to providing the quality education St. Marcus is known for.

Restricted Annual Fund Gifts: These gifts are directed by you to a specific need. Often, donors will direct gifts to Discover America (travel experiences for middle school students), arts, science, athletics, technology, field trips, or a variety of other specific needs. The Catalyst newsletter often lists specific restricted fund needs.

Courage to Commit Comprehensive Campaign (Capital): St. Marcus is currently engaged in the Courage to Commit Campaign, Phase II which provides for the purchase and expansion of a third campus in the Harambee neighborhood, enabling St. Marcus to grow to serve 1,500 students. The capital portion of the campaign is approximately $8,000,000-$10,000,000. Gifts of all sizes are welcomed and appreciated. Gifts can be made in cash, as a multi-year pledge, or even as a deferred gift through an estate plan. Pledge forms are available upon request.

Courage to Commit Comprehensive Campaign (Endowment): The Courage to Commit Campaign, Phase II includes a goal of $1,600,000 for the school’s endowment. Most, but not all, of this amount will come from deferred gifts through estate plans. The purpose of the endowment is to provide funds for the operating budget and to ensure the long-term fiscal sustainability of the school.

Sponsorship Opportunities: Sponsorship opportunities for individuals or businesses to showcase their support of the school and receive public recognition in the form of advertising or promotion at an event, while making a donation that helps to maximize the amount of money raised at the event is welcome. Sponsorship opportunities include events such as the Annual Benefit Gala in November or program support, which includes Class of Scholars  (adopt a class), and individual scholar sponsorship. To find out more and to be directed to the next upcoming event, please contact the Office of Mission Advancement at (414)-562-3163.

Underwriting:
In an effort to make each dollar raised at a special event count, friends often choose to make a donation for the purpose of underwriting an aspect of that evening’s program. Helping to pay for food, decor, staff, printing costs, and other options exist to help maximize the income potential of an event by offsetting the direct costs. If you are interested in helping the school in this manner, please contact the Office of Mission Advancement at (414)-562-3163.

Matching Gift Programs: Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions or volunteer hours made by their employees. If your company has such a program, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to St. Marcus may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

United Way: Donations through United Way can be designated to St. Marcus.

Thrivent Choice: Thrivent is a member-owned company with many different financial products from insurance to investments. As a member-owned company, state law requires that profits be directed to charitable giving; Thrivent Choice lets you recommend where some of Thrivent Financial's charitable outreach funds go by directing Choice Dollars®. If you are a Thrivent member, consider directing your Choice Dollars® to St. Marcus School.

We love and appreciate you. As we fight for the children of Milwaukee we are deeply thankful for your commitment and support. Together, we can give every child access to a high-quality education. Thank you and God Bless!
