NORTH AVENUE CAMPUS BEFORE & AFTERCARE - FOR THE 24-25 SCHOOL YEAR

Account Balances

Parents must have a zero balance at the start of the school year to be approved for Before and After Care services.  If a student is registered and the account is not at $0, the student will be placed on the waiting list until the account reaches $0.  At which time the students may be placed on the accepted list if there is room available.

After the start of the school year, account balances must remain at or below $100 to continue use of Before & Aftercare services on an ongoing basis.  All rules regarding balances apply to the current and past school years.

Before Care

On site Before Care services are from 7:00 - 7:30am, Monday - Friday at all three campuses.  Seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.  

  • Cost: $2 daily charge per student, maximum $4/day per family.  Wisconsin Shares may NOT be used for this expense.
  • Before Care operates from 7:00am to 7:30am with students being dropped off between 7:00 - 7:20am.  After 7:20am students must wait in their vehicles and enter the building at 7:30am with all other students.
  • Students must be registered & accepted into the Before Care program in order to be dropped off.
  • Account balances will be reviewed and if all criteria are met, acceptance letters will be sent and will include drop-off details.

After Care

After Care services are specific to each campus.  Before registering, please carefully review the details and requirements for participation and registration. Please note that students who are registered for off-site aftercare MAY NOT attend on-site aftercare unless COA or BGC are closed for the day.  On-site aftercare has limited capacity and is only for students who have been enrolled in the program.

NOTE: If a student is removed from any one of the programs listed below for behavioral reasons, they will not be allowed to join one of the remaining programs.

Labor of Love
This is an after school program led by Julie Borum, St Marcus Support Teacher and Owner of Dixon Enterprises.  This program includes 20 minutes of homework assistance,  Christ centered lessons, social & emotional well being activities, cooking classes, Arts & Crafts,daily snacks along with family fun nights. This program is staffed with amazing teacher(s) with a passion to serve children while keeping them safe.
 
  • Serves: Grades K4 - 6th
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, starting August 13, 2024, and ending on May 22, 2025.  Does not run during school breaks or half days.
  • This is a weekly program, with a cost of $25 per week.  Please note that the cost is not reduced for partial attendance.  
  • Time: Afterschool to 5:00 p.m., prefer no early pick-up
  • 45 seats available on a first come, first serve basis
  • Cost: $25/week/student. Wisconsin Shares may not be used.  Instruction on the Updated payment schedule will be provided upon acceptance into the Labor of Love programming.
  • Please keep an active email & phone number on file to receive payment details and updates about the program.
    You must have a balance of $0 to start Labor of Love.
  • Pickup: 5:00pm with late pick up starting at 5:01 p.m.  After 5:01 p.m. is considered a late pick up with a charge of $1 per minute, per child. until 6.p.m.
    • 1st Late Pick-Up -  Verbal Communication from LOL staff member
    • 2nd Late Pick-Up - Written (email) warning from LOL staff member
    • 3rd Late Pick-Up -  Loss of seat in the LOL program and all other St. Marcus Aftercare programs.

JKFK Emerging Scholars

This is an after school program led by Jacarrie's Kicks for Kids, and includes homework assistance, fun workshops, tutoring, mentoring, character development and a daily snack.  The goal of the program is daily participation with the exception being for St. Marcus athletics or extra-curricular activities such as music lessons or art club.
  • Serves: Grades K4 - 8th
  • Dates: Monday - Friday, starting August 13, 2024, and ending on May 22, 2025.  Does not run during school breaks.
  • Hours: Afterschool to 5:00 p.m., prefer no early pick-up
  • Location: Primary location will be the St. Marcus House on the corner of North Ave & 1st St.  However, students will use various classrooms and spaces throughout the North Avenue Campus.
  • Cost: $25/week/student, maximum $50/week/family.  Wisconsin Shares may not be used.  Parents will be billed directly from Jacarrie's Kicks for Kids.  Please keep an active email address on file in order to receive invoices and stay current on payments.  Note that the student's account with St. Marcus must be $0 to start.   St. Marcus will review all account balances and notify JKFK if balances are not $0.
  • Pickup: From 5:00 - 5:15pm with late pickup starting at 5:10pm.  After 5:15 p.m. is considered a late pick-up with a charge of $1 per minute, per child, until 6:00 p.m.

    • 2nd Late Pick-Up - Written (email) warning from JKFK staff member
    • 3rd Late Pick-Up -  Loss of seat in the JKFK program and all other St. Marcus Aftercare programs.  
  • Students must be registered & accepted into Jacarrie's Kicks for Kids After School program in order to be dropped off.
  • Please note that if a student is removed from the JKFK Emerging Scholar program, they are not eligible to attend St. Marcus aftercare or Labor of Love.

St. Marcus Aftercare
This is the traditional aftercare that offers come & go services up to 5:00pm on school days.  
  • After Care Hours: 3:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Cost: $5 daily charge per student, maximum $10/day per family. Wisconsin Shares may NOT be used for this expense.
  • Parents must have a zero balance at the start of the school year to be approved for Before and After Care services.  If a student is registered and the account is not at $0, the student will be placed on the waiting list.  After the start of the school year, account balances must remain at or below $100 to continue use Before & After Care services on an ongoing basis.  All rules regarding balances apply to the current and past school years.   • Parents will be billed through their St. Marcus account on a monthly basis via email.  Please keep an active email address on file in order to receive invoices and stay current on payments.
  • Late Pickup: 
    • After 5:00 p.m. the charge is $1 per minute, per child, until 6:00 p.m.  Note: Whenever there is no aftercare (i.e. school is dismissing early for a break), late pickup charges will be $1 per minute per child 30 minutes after the scheduled school dismissal time.
    • 1st Late Pick-Up -  Verbal Communication from an aftercare worker or administrator.
    • 2nd Late Pick-Up - Written (email) warning from an aftercare worker or administrator.
    • 3rd Late Pick-Up -  Loss of Aftercare Privileges at STM (for remainder of the school year) and possible suspension for continued late pick-ups.
  • Children picked up after 5:00 p.m. or children using aftercare who are on the “no-aftercare list” will be referred to an administrator.
  • Students on the “no-aftercare list” for any reason, including unpaid bills, who are picked up more than 15 minutes after the students' regular pick up time may be suspended the following school day for late pickup.
  • Students who are signed up for aftercare do not need to attend every day.  Students who are signed up for aftercare and are in sports or clubs may attend aftercare some days and participate in their sport on other days.
  • Siblings of students who are staying on-site for sports must be picked up at dismissal time or be signed up for aftercare.  Siblings may not stay on site during a sibling’s sports practice.

COA Youth & Family Services, Riverwest

  • Seats are limited (25) and available; however, priority goes to families that have been enrolled at COA in previous years.  After that it is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Serves students ages 4-12 from 2:00 - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Services begin on September 3rd.  From the start of school until then, students enrolled in COA will be provided with on site After Care at St. Marcus.
  • Cost:
    • K4 & K5 = $7.35/hr
    • 6 yrs old & older = $7.23/hr
    • Wisconsin Shares are accepted
  • NOTE: COA traditionally follows the Milwaukee Public School calendar.  Please make note of this as the St. Marcus holiday and school closures do not align with MPS.  When COA is closed & St. Marcus is in session, students may attend the St. Marcus Aftercare.
  • Transportation will be provided between St. Marcus and COA.  However, parents are required to pick up students from the COA Riverwest facility located at 909 E. Garfield Ave.
  • Register in person at COA Riverwest (909 E. Garfield Ave).  For any questions regarding enrollment or billing please call 414-263-8383.

 

Boys and Girls Club (BGC)

  • Seats are limited (30) and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Serves students in grades K4-8 from 2:00 - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Services begin on September 9th.  From the start of school until then, students enrolled in BGC will be provided with on site After Care at St. Marcus.
  • Cost: See details.  Wisconsin Shares may be used and includes dinner depending on time the student is picked up from BGC.
  • NOTE: BGC services follow the Milwaukee Public School calendar.  Please make note of this as the St. Marcus holiday and school closures do not align with MPS.
  • Transportation will be provided between St. Marcus and BGC.  However, parents are required to pick up students from the BGC Pieper-Hillside facility located at BGC 611 W Cherry St.
  • Register online with Boys & Girls Club. Contact the Pieper-Hillside Club at 414-291-0347 (611 W Cherry St) for questions about the club or registration.
