WLHS Job Opening

WLHS is searching for a part-time instructor to lead their fashion technique courses. Any interested individuals should have competence in sewing basic and more complex projects as well as operating a serger machine. The candidate must also be a WELS member in good standing. A teaching degree is preferable, but not necessary. Daily teaching commitment is approximately two and a half hours a day, which could be scheduled for either morning or afternoon. WLHS Jr. Viking Basketball (Boys)

The WLHS boys basketball program invite boys entering grades 4-8 to tryout for the Jr. Vikings boys basketball team, a Christ-centered program aimed at helping boys who are interested in attending WLHS and playing high school basketball. The teams play competitively on Sunday afternoons and evenings, and they practice Monday and Thursday nights from the end of October through the beginning of March. WLHS Jr. Viking Flag Football Camp

The WLHS football program is offering a 3-day camp in September for boys in grades 2-4 to familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of football in a Christian setting on September 8, 15, and 29. Participants will spend time practicing football basics before dividing into teams to play. Cost is $25 per person, and registration should be completed by Friday, August 24 by visiting www.wlhs.org/jrvikings and selecting “Flag Football Registration.”

Opening Service at the Seminary

Students, professors, and friends of the seminary will gather in the seminary chapel on Monday, August 27 at 7:00 pm to mark the beginning of the school’s 2018-2019 school year.

WELS Recovery Retreat

WELS churches have recognized the need to provide resources for our brothers and sisters in Christ that are in recovery from addictions, substance abuse, and mental health issues. The Lutheran Recovery Ministries’ Recovery Retreat for WELS members will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery in Phoenix, AZ October 26-28, 2018. Early bird specials for registration end July 15.
